Andrew Filippone Jr. is a filmmaker in New York City. After more than 12 years working in film and television in Boston, New York, and Los Angeles, he established his filmmaking firm — Telling Story, Inc. — in 2005.
As an Editor in New York from 1997-2000, Andrew worked with Nickelodeon, Showtime Networks, the American metal band Metallica, and a number of independent filmmakers. At Nickelodeon, he edited seasons one and two of the international version of Blue’s Clues, and also several episodes of Dora the Explorer. At Showtime Networks, he worked with the On-Air Promotions Department and cut more than 100 spots, trailers, promos, station IDs, picture-over-credit pieces, and other short-form programs. He also edited three projects for Metallica: a series of 14 documentary vignettes for the band’s Cunning Stunts DVD; a 45-minute documentary for their S&M DVD; and a full-length concert video called Banned in Philly.
From 2000-2002 Andrew worked as the Director of Film & Video for Pallotta TeamWorks, the Los Angeles firm behind the breakthrough AIDSRidesUSA and Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day charity fundraisers. In this role, Andrew operated a full-service, in-house production department that produced, directed, and edited long-form documentaries, recruitment videos, informational programs, and direct-response television spots. The AIDSRidesUSA and Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day each shattered fundraising records for their respective causes, together netting more than $300 million over eight years.
After Pallotta TeamWorks, Andrew remained in Los Angeles and began working regularly as an Editor with the cable network G4 Television, and also as a freelance Producer/Director with several business clients.
In 2004, Andrew returned to New York and, a year later, founded Telling Story, Inc.
Andrew also maintains a personal filmmaking practice apart from his work with Telling Story, Inc. His personal film work can be seen here.
